Post 2, and this one is a doosie! Mrs. Retired Brickmen and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a cruise in the Mediterranean.

We stayed in a wonderful boutique hotel in the gothic area of the city. After checking in, it was time to explore this great city and look at all the great and old masonry materials used to build it. There was no wood, aluminum, or vinyl used in the 12 century or earlier(that was still left standing that is), but plenty of brick, stone, and marble all over.

The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, also
known as Barcelona Cathedral.
EVEN THE OLD STREETS ARE MASONRY!
Dicky the Bricky would be sooo excited!

After two days, a couple of different city tours, and
miles of shoe leather, it was time for Mr. and Mrs. retired
brickmen to relax with a glass of wine and some tapas before
catching the ship. The next day, the ambitious schedule would
really kick into gear !
That's all for now, more to come in the next installment, and remember,
have you ever noticed how "What the hell?" is
always the right answer!
